It’s really nice to get a different insight into Magic performances.
It would be good to see (pardon my spelling) The Discanio Spread and handling and the differences between what you two thought it was and was it actually is.

Fournier cards. When I first heard about them I thought they were some sort of Mathematic Linear Transformation algorythm.
I shall seek a set out and enjoy them. ;-D OH Look. A URL

WOW $11 bucks a deck. They must be “Shweeeeeet”.

Thanks and keep up the great work. I’m sure it’s hard and difficult
eating all that food, seeing all that magic, visiting all those cool places.
But you can do it. Can’t wait to hear more.

I’ve tried the fourniers out, and I believe they’re great for card magic and have a lovely stiffness. The reason why I prefer Aladdins/Tally-Ho is because the fourniers don’t fan or spread well, and the finish makes them “clumpy” very fast (the card surface is very flat and plastic, allowing very little air in between the cards when they’re squeezed = they don’t spread well).

Cheers

Wow the Fournier cards sound really amazing. Are there any other sites to get them at besides Lee Asher’s? Also, have you seen any tricks in Spain that have completely blown your mind?

P.S. The Snuggie sounds like it should be mass produced immediately.

To Rasmus Schoning. Your Fourniers will never fan as well as an air cushion finnish, however you can wash them and they will start fanning they way they did when they were new. Just use a damp(not wet) cloth and clean them up when ever needed.

15 Rasmus Schoning January 28, 2010 at 12:23 AM

@ Erik Ostresh. They don’t fan good right out of the box. The spreading works fine when they’re new. Don’t get me wrong, I love fourniers for magic, I simply prefer more multi-tasking cards.

Cheers

@Rasmus Schoening.Very true. They do need to be broken in, even then they are not as good as an 808, and the first quality that deteriorates as they collect dirt is their fanning. Fanning is a low priority attribute in my card magic, I use it to offer cards for selection and not for a flourish as some do. I certainly wouldn’t recommend these for someone doing a manipulation act. They are a wonderful deck of cards but not for everyone.
Enjoy
