Terrific lesson. And very well taught. The trick is simple yet deceptive, and quite effective, especially when the move is done with Aaron’s “change of the moment.” This is sort of like time misdirection (tho quite different, really) in that it involves timing, an element that is too often overlooked in performing magic — until now! Thanks, Aaron.

WELL AARON I HAVE TO SAY THAT WAS AN EYE OPENER, WELL DONE AND VERY EASY TO DO. I ALWAYS WANTED TO DO A SELECTED CARD AT A SPECTATORS NAME OR ANY NUMBER, BUT JUST COULD NOT FIND THE BEST METHOD UNTIL NOW, I WONDER IF YOU CAN USE THIS METHOD AND HAVE THE SPECTATORS CARD HAVE A DIFFERENT COLOR BACK, SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT. THANKS

What I like most about this, and a lot of your work, is that it has an “old school” feel to it. The method is casual and elegant in its simplicity. This lesson in and of itself is quite elegant, and deserves repeated viewing. There are things here to learn that will not become apparent on the first, second or even third viewing. There is a depth here that I hope will be appreciated. Those who try to plumb those depths will be greatly rewarded for their efforts. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for your love of the art and willingness to share. You not only show a good simple trick but also expand our minds with the “change the moment” idea. Already thinking of ways to apply elsewhere. gwG.

You are Great, Aaron.
This is a lesson that always needs ‘remembering’.
Nice job especially fitting the ‘screen’ in the fore/back-ground.
You’re the Ace

Thanks Aaron, unbelievable. This short video is a session for practical psychology (related to the spectator and the magigian), easy to understand but not often practised.

…I liked the old format.

I’ve heard that Youtube is somewhat damaging to the way magic is taught/passed on/not passed on … that sort of thing. I cant really weigh in on that, as it is, I’m fairly new to card magic. Got a book (yep, I’m old. I still use those things) read through some pages and was completely confused by the overhand shuffle – hey, it was an unnecessarily long winded explanation – so I found some clips on Youtube, and it made much more sense.

Then I discovered the Card Magic Minute.

Just some dude on his iphone/webcam talking about magic.

I thought that was awesome!

There arent that many brick’n'mortar magic stores around my way, so to find the CMM was a real find. Each clip felt like a conversation … however one-sided it may have been..

You were just some guy with a webcam who talked about the stuff he was teaching that week or perhaps shared an anecdote or two or even gave a practical demonstration here and there. It was cool.

This new format… Sure the content is the same but its missing something now.. For me it has lost that (perhaps unintentional, therefore more genuine) one-on-one feel.

Still.. the message is the same regardless of how its presented … so I’m still a fan :D

Thanks for you comment – but take heart. It’s still me talking about the things I care about – just taking a touch of care in the presentation!!! There’s more good things to follow – and thanks for your input. I appreciate it!
